The Jammu and Kashmir Government has terminated the services of 23 ReT teachers for possessing invalid qualification certificates obtained from un-recognized boards. The Director School Education Jammu, Ravi Shankar Sharma, has issued a termination order, stating that the ReT teachers from various districts of Jammu division had obtained their qualifications from boards that do not hold equivalence with the J&K Board of School Education (BOSE).

To review the pending regularization cases of ReT teachers, a committee was formed, and during the meeting held on February 7, 2023, the ReT verification committee members observed that the 23 ReT teachers from different districts of Jammu division had obtained their qualifications from un-recognized boards that do not hold equivalence with the J&K Board of School Education, Jammu. The termination order was issued based on this observation.

This News quoted by Greater Kashmir, the termination order was issued because the boards from which the 23 ReT teachers had obtained their qualifications were not recognised by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India. The committee formed to review the pending regularization cases of ReT teachers recommended the immediate termination of the services of these teachers as they did not possess the necessary qualification certificates. The Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has directed the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of several districts, including Jammu, Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar, and Rajouri, to disengage these teachers from their services immediately and inform the DSEJ office accordingly
