Tragic Drowning Incident in Srinagar’s Nigeen Lake

In a tragic incident, a 54-year-old man identified as Nisar Ahmad Qureshi, a resident of Batamaloo, drowned while fishing in Nigeen Lake in the Lalbazar area of Srinagar. According to officials, the unfortunate incident occurred when Nisar Ahmad slipped into the lake while fishing.

Immediately after the mishap, a rescue operation was launched by a team comprising the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and river police in Srinagar. Despite their hectic efforts, Nisar Ahmad’s body was retrieved from the lake. Subsequently, his body was transferred to the hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Quoting by KS:Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident, and the police are likely to investigate the circumstances leading to the drowning.
