Ladakh LG Vinai Kumar Saxena Gets Additional Charge of Jammu and Kashmir
SRINAGAR: Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has been given the additional charge of Jammu and Kashmir during the absence of incumbent Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who is currently on leave, official sources said on Tuesday.
According to a communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Droupadi Murmu has appointed Saxena to discharge the functions of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in addition to his existing responsibilities in Ladakh.
The order stated that the arrangement will remain in place during the “absence, on leave” of Manoj Sinha.
Sinha has been serving as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir since August 7, 2020. He is currently in the United States on an official visit, according to official sources.

The temporary arrangement means Saxena will oversee the functions of both the Union Territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir during Sinha’s absence.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said, “The President of India is pleased to appoint Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lt. Governor of Ladakh to discharge the functions of the Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, in addition to his own duties, during the absence, on leave, of Shri Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.”
The additional charge will end once Manoj Sinha resumes his duties as Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.
