JKSSB MTS Qualification Criteria Sparks Concern Among Graduate Youth in J&K
Srinagar: The educational qualification criteria prescribed for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) recruitment by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) have sparked concern among a section of aspirants, particularly graduate and postgraduate candidates seeking government employment in Jammu and Kashmir.
A group of JKSSB aspirants has urged the JKSSB and the J&K Government to review and clarify the qualification conditions prescribed for the MTS recruitment.
In a representation submitted to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the aspirants said the eligibility criteria have raised concerns among educated unemployed youth, including candidates who have been preparing for various government recruitment examinations for several years.
Aspirants Seek Clarification on MTS Eligibility
The aspirants questioned the policy basis for restricting eligibility to a specified educational qualification and raised concerns over whether candidates possessing higher educational qualifications should be excluded from applying solely because they have completed studies beyond the prescribed minimum qualification.
They have called upon the concerned authorities to clarify the rationale behind the qualification conditions and explain how the eligibility criteria are intended to be applied in the recruitment process.

The candidates said their demand is not aimed at depriving any section of youth of an employment opportunity. Instead, they want the authorities to examine the issue fairly and transparently and provide clear information regarding eligibility for the MTS recruitment.
Appeal to JKSSB and J&K Government
The aspirants have urged the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board and the concerned government department to address the concerns raised by candidates and issue an official clarification on the qualification criteria.
They have also appealed to KNS to highlight the matter, speak with affected aspirants and seek clarification from the competent authorities.
The candidates said that a clear position from the authorities would help remove confusion among applicants and ensure that candidates understand the eligibility conditions before proceeding with the recruitment process.
The matter has drawn attention among government-job aspirants in J&K, particularly those who have been preparing for competitive examinations and are closely following new recruitment opportunities.
