Why Were These Officers Covered Under OPS?
The Finance Department’s order explains that the officers were selected against posts advertised through Advertisement Notification No. PSC/EXM-09/46, dated December 30, 2008.
Although the recruitment process originated before December 24, 2009, their appointments were issued later through the following government orders:
- Government Order No. 434-GAD of 2011, dated April 8, 2011.
- Government Order No. 508-GAD of 2014, dated May 21, 2014.
As their appointments took place after January 1, 2010, the officers were initially covered under the New Pension System introduced through SRO 400, dated December 24, 2009.
The latest approval follows the policy decision outlined in Government Order No. 305-F of 2026, dated September 28, 2026, and the options exercised by the eligible officers.
