SRINAGAR: J&K Power Shutdown Alert: The Power Development Departments across Jammu and Kashmir have announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns from October 8 to November 4, 2025 to facilitate essential maintenance and tree-pruning works along high-tension transmission lines.
Complete Power Cut Schedule for Kashmir Division
South Kashmir Areas Affected:
October 11 & 13 (9:30 AM – 3:30 PM):
- 33 KV Gopalpora–Pahalgam Line: Hutmurrah, Salia, Sallar, Aishmuqam, Batkoot, Pahalgam and adjoining areas
October 13 & 18 (9:30 AM – 3:30 PM):
- 33 KV Awantipora–Sangam Lines: Bijbehara Town, Sangam, Khiram, Marhama, Panzgam, Kaigam, Chersoo and nearby areas
October 14 (9:30 AM – 3:30 PM):
- 33 KV Moman Tap Line: Moman receiving station area
October 15 (9:30 AM – 3:30 PM):
- 33 KV Gopalpora–Iqbalabad Line: Mattan, Iqbalabad areas
October 15 & 20 (9:30 AM – 3:30 PM):
- 33 KV Wanpoh SICOP Line: Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpora, Veeri, Srigufwara, Cheeniwader and adjoining areas

October 8 to November 4 (Daily 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM):
- Manda-3 and Manda-4 Feeders: Ahata near Exchange Road-II, Rehari-I, Rehari-III, Near CRP, Hari Palace, Doordarshan, Opposite Army Gate, and Rehari Chungi
Official Advisory for Residents
According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution) of both Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL), these shutdowns are essential for:
- Tree pruning and branch cutting along 33 KV lines
- System improvement works
- Preventive maintenance to avoid unscheduled outages

- Charge all essential devices (phones, power banks) in advance
- Avoid using elevators during shutdown hours if possible

Officials from both power corporations have assured residents that electricity supply will be restored immediately after completion of the maintenance works. The corporations have apologized for any inconvenience caused and emphasized that these scheduled shutdowns are necessary for long-term system reliability.
