Jammu, Oct 11: J&K Jal Shakti Department Promotion:The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved the regular promotion of a Junior Engineer to the position of Assistant Engineer in the Jal Shakti Department.
In a significant administrative decision, the government has sanctioned the promotion of Late Shri Hardev Singh, Junior Engineer, as Assistant Engineer in the Jal Shakti Department.

Official Order Details
The promotion was formalized through Government Order No. 231-JK(JSD) of 2025 dated September 30, 2025, and signed by Shaleen Kabra, IAS, Financial Commissioner (ACS) of the Jal Shakti Department.
The order states that the promotion comes with placement in Pay Level-8A (₹50,700-₹1,60,600) and takes effect from July 15. The officer’s seniority has been fixed in the final seniority list of Assistant Engineers at Serial No. 304-AA.

The promotion follows recommendations from both the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission and the Departmental Promotion Committee. The decision references earlier communications including Letter No. PSCOP/C/ISD/AE/17/2022 dated May 11, 2023, from the J&K Public Service Commission and communication from the Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Jammu dated September 3, 2025.
Seniority Placement
According to the government order, Hardev Singh will be positioned below Shri Neraj Kumar Gupta (Sr. No. 304) and above Shri Bashir Ahmad Rather (Sr. No. 304-A) in the seniority list. His seniority has been determined based on his position in the final seniority list of Junior Engineers as notified on April 30, 2020.

The government order clearly states that the promotion is subject to the outcome of any legal proceedings that may be pending before any competent court of law.
