SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Family Tragedy:A tragic road accident in Punjab claimed the lives of a mother and her four-year-old son from Jammu Kashmir, while two other family members were injured. The incident occurred on Wednesday near Uchi Bassi village in Hoshiarpur district when their car hit a road divider and crashed into a tree.
The deceased have been identified as Meera Manhas and her son, Hariansh, who died on the spot, according to police officials.
Police reports stated that the family, residents of Jammu, was traveling to the Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan when the accident occurred. The driver, Shakti Singh, reportedly lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid a stray dog on the Jalandhar–Pathankot National Highway.

The car veered off course, struck the road divider, and collided with a roadside tree, resulting in the deaths of the mother and son.
Shakti Singh and his three-year-old daughter, Tamanna, sustained injuries and were immediately admitted to the Civil Hospital in Dasuya for medical attention.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident to determine the exact cause and any factors that may have contributed to the crash. Police are reviewing the incident, speaking with witnesses, and examining the scene to ensure a thorough inquiry.
