In a notification, the Board said the old syllabus, which had remained in force for candidates who failed or sought re-appearance, has exhausted its validity under existing regulations. As a result, no additional chances will be provided to such students to appear in examinations under the old scheme of studies.
JKBOSE said the affected candidates have been advised to prepare in accordance with the new syllabus for the annual private and bi-annual examinations scheduled later this year, after the completion of the summer zone examinations and the declaration of annual results.
The Board said the notification has been issued well in advance to allow students enrolled under the old course to transition to the new syllabus in time for the annual private and bi-annual examinations in 2026 and subsequent years.
Officials added that the number of candidates who have yet to clear examinations under the old scheme is insignificant.
