SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL, has announced scheduled shutdowns of key 33 kV lines, affecting power supply across several districts.

On February 23, 2026, the 33 kV Bemina-Fatehkadal and Bemina-Barbarshah lines will be offline, disrupting electricity to KK Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohrikadal, BB Shah, Babademb, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Naisarak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basantbagh, Car Parking, Maisuma Bazar and adjoining areas from 08:00 to 14:00 hours.
Power outages will also occur in Kulgam district on February 21 and 23, as the 33 kV Kulgam DH Pora (Chowalgam onwards) line is shut, impacting DH Pora, Aharibal, Nagam, DK Marg, Khull, Nillow, Begam and Sehipora between 08:00 and 14:00 hours.
In Kupwara and Sopore areas, shutdowns of Handwara Hot Line, 33 kV Kupwara Old line, and 33 kV Delina-Sopore Tapline on February 21, will affect Marathgam, Chogal, Handwara Town, Kulangam, the Lolab and Machil valleys, Sopore Town, Wagub, Amargarh, and JK Bank from 08:00 to 14:00 hours.
Additionally, the 33 kV Shadimarg Tapline of the Kanipora-Keller line will be de-energised on February 21, disrupting supply to Shadimarg, Drabgam, Kalampora, Qasbayar, Abhama, and Sangerwani during the same hours.
Authorities have urged residents and businesses to make necessary arrangements to minimise inconvenience.
