Maharashtra Earthquake: Tremors Felt Across Several Regions : SRINAGAR: A mild earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck parts of Maharashtra on Saturday morning, triggering panic among residents across multiple districts.
According to officials, the tremors were felt around 8:45 AM in Hingoli, Nanded and Parbhani. Several areas in Nanded district—including the city, Ardhapur, Mudkhed, Loha, Naigaon, Hadgaon and Himayatnagar—reported noticeable shaking.
As the tremors were felt, people in both urban and rural areas rushed out of their homes in fear.
Authorities said no casualties or damage have been reported so far.
The epicentre of the earthquake was located north of Shirli village in Vasmat taluka of Hingoli district, officials added.
District administrations of Hingoli, Parbhani and Nanded have urged residents to remain calm and not to pay heed to rumours.
