North Kashmir: Police Officer Allegedly Shoots Wife Dead: SRINAGAR: A police officer allegedly shot dead his wife following a domestic dispute during the night in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials and reports said.
The incident is reported to have taken place at a police camp in the Kandi area, where Sub-Inspector Deep Singh was posted.
According to reports, an altercation broke out between the officer and his wife during the night, after which he allegedly opened fire, resulting in her death on the spot.
The officer also sustained injuries in the incident and was subsequently shifted to hospital for treatment, officials said.
Sources said he was admitted to a military hospital, where his condition is being monitored.
Reports further claimed that the officer is a former Army personnel who later joined the police department.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter. (KNT)
