23 J&K Civil Service Officers Approved for Induction into IAS

SRINAGAR: The Centre has approved the selection of 23 officers from the Jammu and Kashmir State Civil Service for induction into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), covering vacancies for the years 2019 and 2020.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on August 28, 2026, the selection lists were prepared against IAS vacancies that arose between January 1 and December 31 of 2019 and 2020.

18 Officers Included in 2019 IAS Selection List

The selection list for 2019 comprises 18 officers from the Jammu and Kashmir State Civil Service.

5 Officers Included in 2020 Selection List

The 2020 IAS selection list contains five officers:

With these two selection lists, a total of 23 J&K State Civil Service officers have been approved for induction into the IAS against the relevant vacancies.

Nisar Ahmad Wani’s Inclusion Remains Provisional

The notification specifically mentioned Nisar Ahmad Wani, whose name has been included provisionally in the 2019 selection list.

His inclusion is subject to the submission of an integrity certificate by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

The notification also stated that his name has been included in the 2020 selection list in addition to the Select List, in accordance with the applicable regulations. His inclusion in this list also remains provisional until the required integrity certificate is submitted.
