On the 21st of April, the weather was partly cloudy with intermittent light rain and thunder at scattered places in the late afternoon/evening.

Farmers are advised to drain out excess water from fields and orchards and carry out spray/fertilizer application during the period of 22nd to 25th of April.

 

As per the latest weather update for Jammu and Kashmir, the region is expected to experience scattered to fairly widespread light rain and thunderstorms in the next 24 hours. The minimum temperature has dropped below normal in some areas, and the meteorological department forecasts mainly dry weather with isolated very light rain and thunderstorms for the subsequent two days.

 

In the last 24 hours, there has been a slight improvement in rainfall activity, with varying amounts of rainfall recorded across different districts. Srinagar received 0.7mm, Qazigund 14.6mm, Pahalgam 9.0mm, Kokernag 3.2mm, Gulmarg 8.6mm, Jammu 7.4mm, Banihal 5.0mm, Batote 6.2mm, Bhaderwah 8.4mm, Katra 13.0mm, and Kathua 1.6mm.

 

The minimum temperature has also varied across different areas. Srinagar recorded a low of 6.2°C, which is 2.7°C below normal for the summer capital. Pahalgam recorded a low of 3.5°C, which is 0.5°C below normal, while Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 1.0°C, which is 4.3°C below normal for the skiing resort. Jammu recorded a low of 15.0°C, which is 6.0°C below normal for the winter capital.
