On this year’s Independence Day, Kashmir will not experience any internet shutdown, marking a departure from the previous two years. Unlike before, no passes will be required to attend festivities throughout the region. Divisional Commissioner Vijay Kumar Bidhuri has confirmed that there will be no restrictions on the night before Independence Day and that internet services will remain operational.
This will be the third consecutive year without interruptions to internet services in Kashmir during Independence Day celebrations. The year 2021 marked a significant milestone, as it was the first time since August 2005 that Jammu and Kashmir was able to commemorate Independence Day without any limitations on internet or mobile services.
