Traedy Strikes Baltal Trek: Pilgrim’s Fatal Fall Claims Life

In a tragic incident on Friday, a pilgrim lost their life due to a fatal fall while trekking along the Baltal route in the Ganderbal district.

According to an official source KS, cited by the Kashmir Scroll news agency, the deceased has been identified as Vijay Kumar Shah, a 50-year-old resident of Tumba village in Rohtas District, Bihar. He was accompanied by another individual, Mamta Kumari.

The unfortunate incident took place during their return from the Holy Cave. Shah suffered a fall from the trail near Kali Mata Track, leading to his immediate demise.

The body of the deceased has been recovered and is currently being transported to the Baltal Base Camp Hospital for further procedures.

As this unfortunate incident unfolds, necessary procedural formalities are being diligently carried out.
