Srinagar: Tragedy struck the life of 25-year-old university student, Sadaf Ayoub, from Lassipora, Pulwama, as she lost her battle with blood cancer at SHMS hospital on Friday evening. Despite belonging to a poor family, Sadaf had managed to secure a slot for masters at the University of Kashmir before being diagnosed last year.

In June, her plight gained widespread attention when a social media post about her condition went viral. The compassionate response from the public was overwhelming, and within just 24 hours, more than 1 Crore was raised to support her treatment. The generous contributions exceeded expectations, leading Sadaf’s brother to kindly request the public to refrain from making further donations.

Sadaf’s untimely demise serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of empathy and support for those battling serious illnesses, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds. Her story touched the hearts of many, highlighting the power of collective kindness in times of need. May her memory inspire others to continue spreading compassion and hope to those facing similar struggles. (KS)
