T20 World Cup: If Both The Sami-finals Gets Washed Away Due To Rain, Then India & New Zealand Will Qualify Into The Final- Here’s How

  • If the match is not completed on the day of the semi-final, then the over in which the game will stop, will start from the same day on the next day. If a team scored 80 runs for two wickets in the first 11 overs and the match could not be played on that day due to rain, then the same team would start playing the next day with the same score. If it rains on the second day as well and the match is not completed, the team tops in Super-12 will advance to the final. This will benefit New Zealand in the first semi-final and India in the second. In this way, India and New Zealand will clash in the final. New Zealand had topped Group-1 with seven points and India with eight points in Group-2.

  • The final game on November 13th will have a reserve day in case of rain, but if the match is also washed out on the reserve day, both finalists will be crowned joint-winners of T20 WC 2022 by ICC.

NOTE:  In the 2002 Champions Trophy final match, the match was washed on both match and reserve days, thus both Sri Lanka and India were declared joint winners.
