Tragic Incident in Doda District: Two Persons Drown in Chenab River
In a heartbreaking incident in Doda district, two individuals lost their lives after drowning in the Chenab River. The victims were identified as Rohit Singh, 25, and Sunil Kumar, 24, both residents of Durga Nagar Khallani, Doda.
According to a senior police officer’s statement to the news agency KS, the unfortunate incident occurred when Rohit and Sunil were washing their hands in the Chenab River after performing the last rites of a relative on the riverbank. The two young men accidentally drowned, leading to a distressing situation.
Upon receiving the news, the police immediately initiated a search and rescue operation. The efforts are being supervised by police officers on the spot, with assistance from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team and local residents from the area.
