Officials said that Bilal Ahmad, a resident of Railway Chowk, Banihal, reportedly fell unconscious late yesterday evening. He was immediately rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, from where he was referred to Government Medical College Anantnag for advanced treatment.

They said his condition deteriorated further, following which he was shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police have taken cognisance of the matter and initiated proceedings under relevant sections at Police Station Banihal.
The exact cause of death is being investigated, and a further probe is underway. (KNC)
