60% of Terrorists Killed in Jammu-Kashmir in 2024 Are Pakistanis: Army Officials

In 2024, the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have successfully neutralized around 75 terrorists, with 60% of those killed being Pakistanis, according to Army officials. This highlights the continued support of the Pakistan Army for the terror infrastructure in the region, despite the economic challenges Pakistan faces. Notably, only four locals have joined the terrorist groups this year, pointing to a significant reduction in local recruitment.

The security forces have carried out multiple operations and encounters across Jammu and Kashmir, including in the Kashmir Valley and the Jammu region. These operations have also involved firefights during attempts by terrorists to infiltrate through the Line of Control (LoC).

Pakistan has been a significant exporter of terrorism, primarily targeting India. Over the years, Pakistan-based terror groups have attempted to intensify activities, particularly in the Jammu region, which includes districts such as Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar, Kathua, and Reasi. However, with increased security measures and additional troop deployments after the Rashtriya Rifles withdrew for border duties, the infiltration and operations have been curbed significantly.

Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi and Northern Army Commander Lt Gen MV Suchendra Kumar have emphasized eliminating terrorists in the White Knight Corps area to ensure sustained peace and security in the region.
