JK Power Shutdown on October 5: These Srinagar Areas to Remain Without Power
Srinagar: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a scheduled power shutdown on October 5, 2026, affecting several areas connected to the Burzhama Receiving Station.
According to the KPDCL shutdown notice dated October 3, 2026, all 11 kV outgoing feeders from Burzhama Receiving Station will remain affected from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on October 5.
Areas to Be Affected
The power supply will remain affected in:
- Danihama
- Burzhama
- Shoperbagh
- Ahal
- Khimber
- Chatterhama
- Gasso
- Rahbagh Hotel
Reason for Power Shutdown
As per the notice, the scheduled shutdown has been necessitated due to evacuation of power from GIS Harwan.
Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance and plan their electricity-dependent activities accordingly.
KPDCL has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to consumers and urged them to stay updated regarding scheduled power supply interruptions.
The notice carries No. SE-I/O&M/T/s/6681-85/Ts and is dated 03/10/2026.
