New SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma Takes Charge

KATHUA, Oct 11: Senior IPS officer Mohita Sharma on Saturday formally assumed charge as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua, marking a new phase in the district’s law enforcement leadership.

Upon her arrival at the District Police Headquarters Kathua, the newly appointed SSP was accorded a warm welcome by Additional SP Kathua Rahul Charak (JKPS), DySP Headquarters Ravinder Singh, and other senior police officers.

Soon after taking charge, SSP Mohita Sharma interacted with officers and reviewed ongoing operations in the district. She laid special emphasis on maintaining strict surveillance against drug trafficking (NDPS cases), cross-border infiltration, inter-state criminal activities, illegal mining, and crimes related to women’s safety.

She directed officers to work in a coordinated and professional manner, ensuring proactive policing and effective law enforcement. “Our focus must be on preventive action, community trust, and maintaining a strong deterrent against crime,” she reportedly told her team.

The SSP also underscored the importance of teamwork and accountability, urging the force to uphold discipline, transparency, and quick response in handling public grievances.cross town news
