Traffic Police Jammu Issues Detailed Advisory for Diwali Mela-2025 at Gulshan Ground
JAMMU: To ensure smooth traffic flow for the upcoming Diwali Mela-2025, the Jammu Traffic Police has released a comprehensive public notice. The mela is scheduled for October 14, 2025, at the Police Parade and Advanced Training Ground (Gulshan Ground), Jammu.
The advisory outlines specific parking arrangements, no-parking zones, and traffic diversions to prevent congestion and inconvenience to the public and participants.
Designated Parking Slots for Diwali Mela
Attendees are urged to use the following designated parking areas based on their vehicle type and route:
For Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs/Cars):
- Jammu University parking in front of MAM College
- Zorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University
- MAM College Ground
- Kala Kendra, Bikram Chowk
- JDA Parking in front of Vishal Mega Mart, Bahu Plaza
- Polytechnic College Football Ground, Bikram Chowk
- Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar
For Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) & Mini-Buses:
- SRTC Yard, Bikram Chowk
- Tawi River Front Parking
For Two-Wheelers:
- K.K. Hakku Stadium
Strict No-Parking Zones
To maintain traffic flow, the following routes have been declared as strict no-parking zones:
- Bikram Chowk to PHQ Crossing
- PHQ Crossing to Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu
- PHQ Crossing to Panama Chowk
- DPL Cut to Panama Chowk
Route-Specific Traffic Diversions
For Public Service Vehicles (PSVs/Matadors):
- From Narwal, Sunjwan, Channi: Vehicles will be diverted from Panama Chowk towards Valmiki Chowk to Green Belt Park.
- From North Side to Channi/Narwal: Vehicles will be diverted from Dogra Chowk via Fortune Rivera Cut, Vivekananda Chowk, Gujjar Nagar Bridge, P/S Bagh-e-Bahu Crossing, and Qasim Nagar.
Important Instructions for Visitors
- From Old City via Bikram Chowk: Park at MAM College or Jammu University Parking.
- Via Gujjar Nagar Bridge or from Narwal via Qasim Nagar: Park at Zorawar Singh Auditorium.
- From Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Channi, Satwari: Park at Bahu Plaza, Kala Kendra, JDA Parking, J&K Bank Corporate Office, Polytechnic College, or SRTC Yard.
- Two-Wheeler Riders: Park exclusively at K.K. Hakku Stadium.
- School Buses & Participant Vehicles: Park at Tawi River Front.
- Escort Vehicles: Park on the road stretches from PHQ to MAM College Tube and Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu to PHQ Rotary Tube.

“No vehicle shall be allowed to park on the road around the venue. The public is requested to cooperate with the Traffic Police for hassle-free vehicular movement.”
