Mysterious Death in Mendhar: Unidentified Man Found Dead at Bus Stand in Poonch
Srinagar, Oct 16: A sense of shock gripped the Mendhar area of Poonch district on Thursday night after an unidentified male body was discovered at the local bus stand, officials confirmed.

According to police sources, some residents passing through the area noticed a man lying motionless near the bus stand and immediately alerted the authorities. A police team from Mendhar Police Station rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the Government Sub-District Hospital, Mendhar, for further investigation.

Medical Officer Dr. Obaid Khan said the body has been kept in the hospital mortuary. “The cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem examination,” he told reporters.
Police have launched a probe to establish the man’s identity and ascertain the cause and circumstances of his death. Officials said that initial findings do not rule out any possibility, and further medical and forensic reports will provide clarity.
Residents have urged authorities to expedite identification and ensure that the man’s family, once traced, receives timely information and assistance.
Meanwhile, police have appealed to the public to come forward with any information that may help identify the deceased.
This incident adds to growing concerns about public safety in parts of Poonch district, where authorities have been closely monitoring law and order situations over recent months.
