According to an official order issued by the Finance Department (Codes Division), the decision follows the Council of Ministers’ approval (Decision No. 110/17/2025 dated 15.10.2025) and aims to provide financial relief to pensioners amid rising inflation and cost-of-living pressures.
The revised DA will be paid in cash for the period July to September 2025 during October, while from October 2025 onwards, the enhanced rate will form part of the monthly pension.
The order further clarifies that any fractional amount resulting from DA calculation will be rounded off to the next higher rupee. Existing regulations regarding DA during employment or re-employment will continue to apply, ensuring administrative consistency.
Officials said the move is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to support pensioners’ welfare and maintain parity with the 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
The order, signed by Santosh D. Vaidya (IAS), Principal Secretary to the Government, Finance Department, underscores the administration’s commitment to ensuring economic stability for retired employees and their dependents across Jammu and Kashmir.
