Kupwara Tragedy: Motorcyclist Dies, Another Injured in Kunan Poshpora Road Accident
Kupwara, Oct 30: A tragic road accident in north Kashmir’s Kunan Poshpora area of Kupwara district on Thursday morning claimed the life of a motorcyclist, while another person sustained serious injuries.
According to reports, the incident took place on the Kunan Poshpora road under the jurisdiction of Police Station Trehgam, when a tipper (JK04-7965) collided with a motorcycle.
In the crash, the rider, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Gani Lone, a resident of Kunan, died on the spot. The pillion rider, Faisal Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Abdullah Dar, also from Kunan, suffered injuries and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter and seized the vehicle involved in the accident.
Meanwhile, locals expressed deep concern over the increasing number of road mishaps in the area and urged authorities to implement stricter speed regulations and improve road safety measures on the stretch.
