Snowfall Likely in J&K’s Higher Reaches During Nov 4–5: MeT Predicts Temperature Drop
Srinagar, Oct 30: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Thursday predicted a brief spell of rain and snowfall over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir between November 4 and 5, bringing a likely end to the prevailing dry weather.
According to an official statement, dry conditions are expected to continue across J&K till November 3, after which the weather is likely to turn cloudy with a chance of light rain and snowfall in scattered areas of the Kashmir division and isolated parts of the Jammu division between November 4 evening/night and November 5 morning.
The official further noted that a significant drop in both day and night temperatures is expected from November 5 onwards across several regions.
Weather is predicted to remain dry again from November 6 to 10, allowing farmers to carry on agricultural activities without interruption.
Recent readings show temperatures hovering around 6°C in Srinagar, 12°C in Jammu, and 0°C in Gulmarg, indicating the early onset of cold conditions in the Valley.
