SRINAGAR: One person was killed and another critically injured in a road accident at Takanwari Noorbagh in Srinagar late on Friday night, officials said.

An official said that hey were identified as Faizan Ahmad Sheikh (25), resident of Narainbagh, Ganderbal, and Umer (24), also a resident of Narainbagh, Ganderbal.
Both had suffered serious head injuries in the accident and were shifted to JVC Hospital, Bemina, for treatment.
However, doctors later declared Faizan Ahmad Sheikh dead due to the severity of his injuries. The condition of the other injured, Umer, is stated to be critical and he is undergoing treatment, he said.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation. (KNC)
