An official said that the deceased was discovered in a charred condition at his residence.
He said police soon arrived at the scene and took the body to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Zameer Ahmad Teli (47), son of Nazir Ahmad Teli, a resident of Kanipora, Nowgam.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation. Further details are awaited.(KNO)
