J&K Police Promotes Two Sub Inspectors to Inspector Rank

Srinagar, Mar 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Police has promoted two Sub Inspectors to the rank of Inspector in different cadres following recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).

According to an official order issued from the police headquarters in Jammu, Sub Inspector Susheel Kumar of the Photography Cadre has been promoted to the rank of Inspector in the same cadre. He will now receive the pay scale of Level 6E (₹35,900–₹1,13,500) with immediate effect against an available vacancy.

In a separate order, Sub Inspector Sahil Bharti of the Telecom Cadre has also been promoted to the rank of Inspector. His promotion has been granted in the same pay level of ₹35,900–₹1,13,500.

Officials said that Sahil Bharti’s promotion will be effective notionally from November 28, 2023, while monetary benefits will be applicable from November 3, 2025, the date of his confirmation in service.

The orders were issued by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat.

The order further states that the promotions are subject to the outcome of any writ petitions pending before a competent court of law.
