KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Several Areas: SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has announced scheduled shutdowns of multiple 33 KV transmission lines on May 14, 16, 18, 19 and 20, 2026, resulting in temporary power disruptions across several parts of Kashmir.

According to the schedule, the 33 KV Shamsipora Tapline will remain shut from 10 am to 3 pm on May 14 and May 18, affecting Shamsipora, Sudsanoo, Turka, Tachloo and adjoining areas.

The 33 KV Sheeri Baramulla-I line will be shut from 9 am to 3 pm on May 14 and May 19, affecting New DIC, DIC, Short Delina, Old Army, Main Bazar, Ushkura, PHE and nearby localities.

Besides, the 33 KV Amargarh SIDCO line will remain shut from 9 am to 3 pm on May 14 and May 19, impacting Rohama, Panzla, Shutloo, Tragpora, Chakloo, Nadhihal, Aqua PHE, Ladoora, Irrigation, Seer and adjoining areas.

The 33 KV SH Pora line and 33 KV Kawdara line will also be shut from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm on May 14 and May 20, affecting Jamallatta, Nawabazar, Zainakadal, Firdous Colony, Zaldagar, Nowhatta, Nawa Kadal, MR Gunj, Zadibal, Kaksarai and surrounding areas.

In south Kashmir, the 33 KV Tral-II line and 33 KV Pampore–Pulwama line will remain shut from 9 am to 3 pm on May 14 and May 16, affecting Batagund, Lurgam, Nanar, Taki, Lam, Jawaharpora, Aripal, Khangund, Satoora, Kakapora, Pahoo, Nehama, Newa, Gudoora, Parigam, Zadoora and adjoining areas.

KPDCL stated that the shutdowns are necessary for maintenance and upgradation works on the transmission network. Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to plan accordingly in view of the scheduled interruptions.(KASHMIR LIFE)
