J&K Police Reshuffle: DGP Orders Transfer and Adjustment of 60 DSPs

Jammu, June 17: In a major administrative reshuffle within the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat has ordered the adjustment and transfer of 60 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) across various wings and units of the department.

According to the official order, 28 recently promoted officers have been adjusted to different assignments, while 32 DSP-ranked officers have been transferred and posted to new positions across Jammu and Kashmir.

Among the key adjustments:

  • Sanjay Gupta – DSP CID SB Ramban
  • Riyaz Mustafa – DSP CTC Lethpora
  • Mir Zahid – DSP Arms/Ammunition Headquarters
  • Arif Ahmad Ahanger – DSP STC Sheeri
  • Ashwani Kumar – DSP ACB
  • Nasir Syed Kirmani – DSP CICE Srinagar
  • Tahir Ahmad – DSP IT Crime Headquarters

Other officers adjusted include Iftikhar Ahmad Mir, Ramesh Kumar Pandita, Raj Kumar Dhar, Sunil Kumar Ganjoo, Javaid Akhter, Ajay Bhat, Arun Kotwal, Vijay Kotwal, Mohammad Araf, Shabir Ahmed, Kulbir Singh, Chaman Gorka, Sanjeev Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Jag Jiwan Ram, Naveen Angral, Som Raj, Yog Raj, Yasir Arfat, Hargopal Singh, and Lateef Ahmad.

The transfer order includes several significant postings:

  • Albeena Malik posted as DSP SDRF Jammu
  • Shahjan Choudhary posted as DSP HQ Baramulla
  • Kosheen Koul posted as DSP 16 JKAP IR
  • Zafar Mehdi posted as DSP HQ Bandipora
  • Ajaz Ahmed posted as DSP Traffic Rajouri-Poonch
  • Shoket Ali posted as DSP Traffic Doda-Kishtwar
  • Kulwant Singh posted as DSP CID CI Baramulla

Several other officers, including Mohammad Rafee Rather, Tariq Ahmad Tak, Nazir Ahmad, Abdul Aziz Ganai, Kubra Nazir, Khurshid Ahmad, Bharat Sharma, Khudmukhtar Dev, Virender Gupta, Vijay Singh, Kirpal Singh, Sunil Gupta, Ashiq Hussain, Monika Thakur, Yasir Farooq Baig, Manisha Kumari, Neeraj Badyal, Showkat Ahmad Bukhari, Mir Afaq Ahmad, Hafizullah Mir, Pir Atiquallah, Neeraj Bhagat, and Ashwani Kumar, have also been reassigned to new positions.

Additional Charge Arrangements

The order further states that:

  • DSP SOG Darhal will additionally hold charge of DSP SOG Kandi, Rajouri until further orders.
  • DSP DAR Ramban will also hold the charge of DSP SOG Ramban in addition to his existing duties until further orders.

The reshuffle is aimed at strengthening policing, administration, and operational efficiency across various units of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
