According to the latest weather update, the ongoing spell is expected to spread to more parts of Jammu and Kashmir during the coming hours. The current spell may continue for another 2 to 5 hours, with weather conditions expected to improve first over north Kashmir.
However, the weather may remain locally unstable later in the day. By the late afternoon, a few places could experience another spell of thundershowers.
Recent weather forecasts have also indicated increased rainfall activity across Jammu and Kashmir, with the Meteorological Centre warning of intense rainfall at isolated locations and the possibility of weather-related disruptions in vulnerable areas.
Orchard Spraying Advisory
For fruit growers, orchard spraying can be carried out after the current rainfall spell completely ends, provided there is sufficient drying time and weather conditions remain favourable. Farmers are advised to avoid spraying during or immediately before rainfall to prevent the treatment from being washed away.
People travelling through hilly and vulnerable areas are also advised to remain cautious, particularly if thunderstorms or intense showers develop.
The weather is expected to remain changeable, with intermittent rain and thundershower activity possible in parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
