SRINAGAR, October 6:Fresh Snowfall Blankets Kashmir.The higher altitudes of Kashmir, including Gulmarg, Gurez, and several other mountain regions, experienced the season’s first snowfall this week, signaling an early onset of winter across the Valley.
The fresh spell of snow transformed the landscape, painting the mountains in stunning white. Key high-altitude areas like Affarwat in Gulmarg, Sinthan Top in Anantnag, the crucial Zojila Pass, and the Razdan Top—the gateway to the Gurez Valley in Bandipora district—woke up to a beautiful white blanket.

According to on-ground reports, the light snowfall at Razdan Top began in the early hours of Monday morning, leading to a noticeable dip in temperatures across the upper regions. Despite the fresh snow, officials from the Traffic Police Department have confirmed that traffic movement on the Bandipora-Gurez road remains open and operational, a relief for residents and travellers in the area.
Other areas that reported this season’s first snowfall include Gumri and Minimarg, adding to the winter spectacle.
