GMC Anantnag Releases Selection List for Senior Resident Posts in General Surgery
Government Medical College Anantnag has officially released the selection list for the tenure posts of Senior Resident in the discipline of General Surgery. The notification has been issued under Notification No. 0 GMCA of 2026 dated March 2026.
The recruitment process was initiated earlier through Advertisement Notice No. 02 GMCA of 2026 dated January 22, 2026, inviting applications from eligible candidates, including both in-service and non-in-service doctors, for tenure posts of Senior Resident in various disciplines of the medical college.
Applications and Written Test Conducted
According to the notification, a large number of applications were received for the General Surgery department. As the number of applicants exceeded the available posts, the administration conducted a written examination on February 28, 2026, at the Main Campus Dialgam.
The examination was conducted as per the government guidelines laid down in Government Order No. 382-JK (HME) of 2024 dated June 20, 2024.
Later, the merit list of candidates who appeared in the written test was published on March 9, 2026.
Final Selection List Issued
Following the evaluation process, the final selection list for the discipline of General Surgery has now been officially notified. The names of selected candidates are included in Annexure ‘A’ of the notification for information and further action.
Instructions for Selected Candidates
Candidates whose names appear in the selection list are required to report to the Office of the Principal, Government Medical College Anantnag within 7 days from the date of issuance of the notification.
They must bring the following documents for submission through the Employee Verification System (EVS) for verification of character and antecedents:
• Coloured copy of the application form
• Photocopies of all uploaded certificates and documents
Important Note
If any selected candidate fails to report within the specified time, their selection will automatically be cancelled without any further notice.
The notification also clarifies that the issuance of the selection list does not guarantee appointment or engagement, and all selections remain subject to verification and fulfillment of official requirements.
