J&K Government Assigns Additional Charges to Two IAS Officers
The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a new order regarding the assignment of additional charges to senior IAS officers in the administration.
According to Government Order No. 467-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated March 23, 2026, the decision has been taken in the interest of smooth functioning of administrative work.
As per the order, Saurabh Bhagat, who is currently serving as Commissioner/Secretary in the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, has been given the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Information Technology Department. He will continue in this role until Piyush Singla resumes his duties.
Similarly, Sheetal Nanda, Commissioner/Secretary of the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, has been assigned the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. She will hold this position until Mohd Aijaz returns to duty.
The order has been issued by M. Raju, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, under the directions of the Lieutenant Governor.
This move is aimed at ensuring that important departments continue to function efficiently without any disruption.
