J&K Government Issues Tentative Seniority List of Naib Tehsildars; 21 Days Given for Objections
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has issued a tentative seniority list of Naib Tehsildars serving in the Revenue Department, reflecting their seniority position as of January 1, 2026. The officials concerned have been given 21 days from the date of notification to submit objections regarding their placement or request corrections to their personal and service particulars.
The notification was issued by the Office of the Financial Commissioner (Revenue) under Government Notification No. 138-FC (Revenue) of 2026, dated October 28, 2026. The department has directed the concerned officials to carefully examine the details recorded against their names and submit any representations within the prescribed period.
Officials have been cautioned that objections received after the expiry of the deadline will not be entertained.
Revised Seniority List Takes Retirement and New Appointments into Account
The tentative seniority list has been prepared after taking into account changes arising from the retirement of several Naib Tehsildars upon attaining the age of superannuation, along with the inclusion of candidates appointed on the recommendations of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB).
The latest exercise follows the final seniority list issued on March 3, 2022, which reflected the position of officials as of January 1, 2020.
The publication of the tentative list provides an opportunity for the officials concerned to verify their seniority positions and bring any discrepancies to the department’s notice before the list is finalised.
