J&K Government Transfers 49 IAS, JKAS Officers in Major Administrative Reshuffle

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the transfer and posting of 49 IAS and JKAS officers with immediate effect in a major administrative reshuffle.

According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the reshuffle covers several key departments, district administrations, municipal bodies and government institutions.

Major Administrative Changes

Senior IAS officer Shaleen Kabra (AGMUT: 1992) has been given additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Revenue Department, while continuing as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Jal Shakti Department, Financial Commissioner, Revenue, and Administrative Secretary, Estates Department.

Dr Ashish Chandra Verma (AGMUT: 1994) will serve as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Agriculture Production Department.

M Raju (AGMUT: 2005) has been relieved of the additional charge of Health and Medical Education and assigned additional charge of Hospitality and Protocol as well as Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction.

R Alice Vaz (AGMUT: 2005) will be Commissioner/Secretary, Transport Department, with additional charge of Civil Aviation and Commissioner, Civil Aviation, while retaining Information Department.

Saugat Biswas (AGMUT: 2006) has been assigned Health and Medical Education, while Sarmad Hafeez (AGMUT: 2009) will handle Youth Services and Sports.

Ramesh Kumar (AGMUT: 2011) moves to Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, with additional charge of Culture, while continuing as Resident Commissioner, J&K Government, New Delhi.

Naveen S L (AGMUT: 2012) will serve as Commissioner of Enquiries, J&K.

Avny Lavasa (AGMUT: 2013) will handle Tourism while retaining Tribal Affairs, and Anjali Sehrawat (AGMUT: 2013) will head Public Grievances.

Vikas Kundal (AGMUT: 2013) becomes Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, with additional charge of Additional CEO, Jammu Metropolitan Regional Development Authority.

Majid Khalil Ahmad Drabu (AGMUT: 2013) has been assigned the post of Inspector General of Registration, J&K.

Rahul Yadav (AGMUT: 2014) will head Information Technology, with additional charge as Managing Director, J&K Power Development Corporation Limited.

Owais Ahmed (AGMUT: 2014) will handle Planning, Development and Monitoring, with additional charge of Director, Skill Development J&K.

Dr Sagar Doifode Dattatray (AGMUT: 2014) has been assigned Social Welfare.

Several changes have also been made at the district administration level.

Rakesh Minhas (AGMUT: 2016) has been appointed CEO, State Health Agency, J&K, with additional charge of Managing Director, Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission, J&K.

Shrikant Balasaheb Suse (AGMUT: 2016) will serve as Chairman, J&K Services Selection Board, while Akriti Sagar (AGMUT: 2016) takes charge as Managing Director, J&K Tourism Development Corporation, with additional charge of CEO, J&K Economic Reconstruction Agency.

Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan (RJ: 2016) has been assigned Managing Director, National Health Mission, J&K.

Basharat Qayoom (JH: 2016) will be Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, with additional charge of CEO, Srinagar Smart City.

Ayushi Sudan (AGMUT: 2017) will head Jammu Municipal Corporation.

The order also includes several JKAS appointments.

Rakesh Kumar has been assigned as Special Secretary, Lok Bhawan, while Sachin Jamwal will serve as Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua. Sushil Kesar has been appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, and Irfan Bahadur as Assistant Commissioner (Revenue), Budgam.

Meanwhile, Afroza Bano has been directed to await further orders in the General Administration Department.

The reshuffle marks a significant reallocation of responsibilities across Jammu and Kashmir’s civil administration, covering important areas including revenue, health, tourism, power, information, rural development, municipal administration and district governance.
