J&K Govt Orders Major Transfers in Forest, Ecology and Environment Department

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday ordered a series of transfers and postings in the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department with immediate effect.

According to Government Order No. 57-JK(FST) of 2026 dated March 10, issued by the Civil Secretariat, several IFS and forest officers have been assigned new postings and additional charges in the interest of administration.

As per the order, Chaturbhuj Behara, IFS (AGMUT:1996), Director, J&K Forest Research Institute, has been given additional charge of PCCF (Wildlife)/Chief Wildlife Warden, J&K, relieving Sarvesh Rai, IFS (AGMUT:1991), PCCF/HoFF, J&K of the post. Dr. V. S. Senthil Kumar, IFS (AGMUT:2005), Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu, will hold additional charge of Regional Wildlife Warden, Jammu till further orders.

The government has also posted Ms. Vanjulavalli Sridhar, IFS (AGMUT:2012), as Conservator of Forests, Research Circle, while Ms. Shaveta Jandial, IFS (AGMUT:2013), Regional Director, Pollution Control Committee, Jammu, has been transferred and posted as Regional Director, Social Forestry Department, Jammu. Ms. Jyotsana, IFS (AGMUT:2013), Regional Wildlife Warden, Jammu, has been transferred as Chief General Manager (Eco-tourism & Diversification), JKFDCL.

Among other transfers, Suresh Manda, IFS (AGMUT:2016), has been posted as Regional Director, Pollution Control Committee, Jammu, while several DCF and ACF level officers including Zubair Ahmad Shah, Hitashi Sharma, Vijay Kumar Verma, Safeer Hussain, Abhijeet Joshi and others have also been assigned new roles and additional responsibilities.
