J&K Police Adjusts 14 DSPs After Promotion, Transfers 5 Others
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters has ordered the adjustment of 14 Deputy Superintendents of Police (Ministerial) following their promotion, while five other DSPs (Ministerial) have been transferred with immediate effect.
The order was issued by DIG Personnel Mubassir Latifi, IPS, on September 21, 2026, with the postings and transfers approved by the Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the order, the promotions of the officers were made through four government orders issued between March and June 2026.
14 promoted DSPs adjusted to new posts
Among the officers adjusted following their promotion, Fida Hussain Sheikh has been posted as ADO ZAP II Kashmir, while Farooq Ahmad Naikoo has been posted as ADO Railways.
Mohammad Farooq Mir has been posted as ADO RPHQ Doda.
The order further states that Abdul Rashid Mir has been posted to SHQ against the post of ADO FSL till March 31, 2026, while Manzoor Hussain has been posted to CID PHQ against the post of ADO FSL till April 30, 2026.
Mohammad Yousuf has been posted as ADO ZPHQ Kashmir.
In Jammu and other districts, Gopal Singh has been posted as ADO DPO Jammu, Kuldeep Raj as ADO ZAPHQ Jammu, and Ashok Kumar as ADO DPO Rajouri.
Riyaz Ahmad Khan has been posted as ADO DPO Anantnag. He will join the post after the retirement of Mohammad Yaseen on September 30, 2026.
The order also posts Bashir Ahmad as DSP (Estates) PHQ against the post of ADO FSL, relieving ADO HQ of the additional charge.
Meanwhile, Farooq Ahmad Rather has been posted as ADO Traffic HQ, Bashir Ahmad as ADO Tech HQ, and Ghulam Nabi Bhat as ADO SKPA Udhampur.
Five DSPs transferred
Separately, the Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters has ordered the transfer of five DSPs (Ministerial) with immediate effect.
Mushtaq Ahmad Tantray has been transferred from ADO SKPA to ADO DPO Srinagar.
Manzoor Ahmad has been moved from ADO ZAPHQ Kashmir to ADO DPO Doda.
Shakeel Ahmad has been transferred from ADO DPO Budgam to ADO DPO Udhampur.
Manzoor Ahmad Mir has been moved from ADO DPO Doda to ADO APHQ.
Mohd Syed Wani has been transferred from ADO RPHQ Udhampur to ADO DPO Budgam.
DGP approves postings and transfers
The order stated that the postings and transfers were issued with the approval of the Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir.
The latest order is part of the ongoing administrative adjustments within the Jammu and Kashmir Police following the promotion of officers to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Ministerial).
