🌧️ J&K Weather Update: Season’s First Major Rain, Snow Spell Likely From October 8

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir may witness the season’s first major spell of rain and snowfall from October 8 to 11, as a strong Western Disturbance is expected to affect the Union Territory, according to an early weather forecast.

The forecast by Kashmir Weather Forecast currently places the probability of the spell at around 55 per cent.

Weather conditions are expected to remain predominantly dry until October 5, while a noticeable change may begin from October 8.

Rain in plains, snowfall in higher reaches

According to the forecast, snowfall is likely to remain mainly confined to the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, while rain may occur across plains and lower-lying areas.

However, the forecast is still at an early stage, and the timing, intensity and geographical spread of the weather system may change as the Western Disturbance approaches J&K.

Kashmir Weather Forecast said further updates will be issued as the dates draw closer.
