J&K Weather Update: Unsettled Weather Likely Across Region, Says MeT: SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting a spell of unsettled weather followed by largely dry conditions over the coming days.

According to the forecast, on May 4, most places are expected to witness generally cloudy conditions with one or two spells of light to moderate rain or thundershowers. Thunderstorms, hailstorm activity, and gusty winds reaching 40–50 kmph are also likely at a few locations across Kashmir and parts of Jammu.

On May 5, brief spells of light rain and thundershowers are expected at scattered places, mainly during the afternoon hours.

From May 6 to 9, the weather is likely to remain generally dry, although isolated brief showers during the afternoon cannot be ruled out. 

Between May 10 and 12, mostly dry conditions are expected, with only scattered places likely to receive brief spells of light rain or thundershowers.

Issuing an advisory, the Meteorological Centre warned of possible thunder, lightning, hailstorm, and gusty winds at isolated places in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions.

It has advised suspension of boating and shikara activities during adverse weather conditions, and urged people to stay away from weak structures, electric poles, and overhead wires, and to remain indoors during thunder and lightning activity.(SOURCE: KASHMIR LIFE)
