Kashmir Power Update: KPDCL Issues Scheduled Shutdown Notice: SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of planned shutdowns on multiple 33 KV transmission lines across north Kashmir and other areas during May 2026.

According to the department, the 33 KV Delina–Delina line will remain under shutdown on May 16 and May 19 from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm, affecting Delina, Kanispora, Singhpora, BSF, Jetty, Kralhar, TC PHE, Sopore-II and nearby areas.

On the same dates, the 33 KV Khanyar line and 33 KV Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan–Takanwari line will also be shut between May 16 and May 20 from 10:30 am to 02:30 pm, impacting Miskeenbagh, Rosebal, Hazaribagh, Kondebal, Hasanabad, Jogi Lanker, Palpora, Sangam, JLNM Hospital and adjoining localities.

The 33 KV Bandipora–Ajar line will remain shut on May 17 from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm, affecting Panzigam, Kulsoosa, Kazipora, Khayar, Ajar, Town, Arin and Ahmishareef areas.

On the same day, the 33 KV Potushai–Nadihal line will also be affected on May 17 and May 19 from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm, impacting Nishat, Papchan, Ajas, SK Bala, Sadunara, Bazipora, Nadihal, Guroora, Argam and adjoining areas.

The 33 KV LJHP Boniyar line will remain shut on May 18 and May 21 from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm, affecting Boniyar, Trikanjan, Limber, Nowshera, JNV and nearby localities.

On May 18, several shutdowns will be carried out across Bandipora, Ganderbal and Uri divisions. The 33 KV Potushai–Aloosa line will affect Aloosa, Malangam and Quil, while the 33 KV Badampora–Lar/Tulmulla and Badampora–Kurhama/Dab lines will impact a large number of villages including Lar, Waliwar, Watlar, Tulmulla, Kurhama, Safapora, Sainik School area, GCET Safapora and surrounding localities from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm.

The 33 KV Badampora–Safapora–Wangipora Tapline and Badampora–Army Hakbara line will also remain shut on May 18 and May 25 from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm, affecting Batwina, Nowgam, Wangipora, Zazna, Sumbal, Hajin, Madwan, Hakbara and adjoining areas.

Further, the 33 KV LJHP Uri line will be shut on May 20 and May 23 from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm, affecting Salamabad, NHPC, MES, TFC, Garkote, Balkote, Bandi, Uri, Mohura, Rampur, Bani, Bihjama, Dhani and nearby areas.

On May 19 and May 21, the 33 KV Sheeri–Baramulla-2nd line will remain under shutdown from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm, impacting Old Town, Azad Gunj, Janbazpora, Jalsheeri, Tawheedgunj, PHE, Irrigation, Zogiyar, Fatehgarh, STC and adjoining localities.

Similarly, the 33 KV Amargarh–Watergam line will be shut on May 19 and May 23, affecting Watergam, Hachipora, Palpora, Behrampora, Dangiwacha and surrounding areas.

The 33 KV Sheeri–Malpora line will remain shut on May 23, impacting Chandoosa, Hospital, Dangerpora, Sultanpora, Gantamulla, Malpora, Hevan, Namblan and nearby localities.

In addition, the 33 KV Markundal line will be affected on May 18 and May 20 from 09:00 am to 03:00 pm, impacting Markundal, Naidkhai, Sumbal, Gundboon and adjoining areas, while the 33 KV HMT line shutdown will affect Shadipora, Trigam, Mirgund and Singhpora on May 18 and May 21.

The 33 KV Kangan and Shariefabad–Wadwan lines will also remain shut on May 18, affecting Mammer, Wangath, Kangan, Akhal, Soibugh, Haran, Wadwan, Dharmuna, Russu, Gotpora, Pymus and nearby areas.

KPDCL has urged residents in the affected areas to make advance arrangements, stating that the shutdowns are necessary for routine maintenance and strengthening of the power infrastructure.(KASHMIR LIFE)
