SRINAGAR: A pedestrian was killed on the spot on Monday after a speeding truck struck him in the Dhirti area of Katra tehsil in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

They said that the deceased has been identified as Lal Din (32), son of Mohammad Fareed, a resident of Dhirti Kakryal. According to reports, the truck bearing registration number JK02DK-1310 fatally struck him while he was walking along the roadside.

The vehicle also reportedly ran over and killed three goats during the incident.
The body of Lal Din was shifted to CHC Katra for medico-legal formalities, while further investigation into the incident has been initiated. (KNC)
