Power Supply to Remain Suspended in Several Areas on January 22: KPDCL

SRINAGAR: Power supply will remain disrupted in several areas on January 22 following scheduled shutdowns of 33 KV transmission lines, officials of the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) said on Tuesday.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, a shutdown of the 33 KV Wanpoh–Ashajipora and Wanpoh–Malaknag lines will be observed, affecting electricity supply to Ashajipora, Dialgam, Malaknag, Hazratbal, Brakpora, Doonipawa and adjoining areas from 9.30 am to 3 pm.

Besides, shutdowns of the 33 KV Bemina–Fateh Kadal and 33 KV Bemina–Barbarshah lines have also been scheduled during the same period. As a result, power supply to K.K Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohrikadal, Bishembarnagar, Gousia Hospital, Naisarak, Barbarshah, Exchange, Basant Bagh, Maisuma car parking area and nearby localities will remain affected from 9.30 am to 3 pm.

Officials said the shutdowns are being carried out to facilitate necessary maintenance and related works on the power infrastructure. Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance.
