The recruitment is for a prestigious research project titled “Elucidating genomic basis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy associated sudden cardiac death and heart failure for a tailored personalized cardiac care: Kashmir Heart Project.” The position is purely temporary and will be valid for a period of four months or the duration of the project, subject to satisfactory performance of the selected candidate.

Educational Qualification Required
Candidates applying for SKIMS Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2025 must possess the following qualification:
Applicants should have an MSc degree in Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Technology (Clinical Biochemistry or Immunology), Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Molecular Medicine, or any related field. The degree must be obtained from a UGC-recognized university, with at least 60 percent marks in aggregate.
Desirable Experience
While not mandatory, candidates with prior experience in the relevant field will be given preference. Desirable skills include hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, Real-Time PCR, DNA sequencing, and data analysis. Experience in laboratory-based genomic research will be an added advantage for selection.
Salary and Emoluments
As per the guidelines of the funding agency, the selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly salary of Rs 25,000. No additional allowances will be provided.

Important Terms and Conditions
The appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one month’s notice without assigning any reason. Since the post is purely temporary, the selected candidate will have no claim for regular appointment at SKIMS or continuation in any other project. Mere fulfillment of eligibility criteria does not guarantee an interview call or selection. After completion or termination of the project, candidates cannot claim any regular employment at the institute.
