Srinagar Schools to Suspend Classwork on September 10 for JKSSB Exams

SRINAGAR: Regular classwork at two educational institutions in Srinagar will remain suspended on Thursday, September 10, 2026, to facilitate the smooth conduct of JK Services Selection Board (JKSSB) OMR-based written examinations for posts in the Health and Medical Education Department.

The decision has been taken in connection with the JKSSB examinations scheduled to be conducted at the two institutions on the same day.

Which Srinagar Institutions Will Suspend Classwork?

As per an order issued by the Additional District Magistrate, Srinagar, on September 9, regular classwork has been suspended at the following institutions:

  • Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar
  • Kashmir Government Polytechnic, Gogji Bagh

The suspension will apply on September 10, the day on which the JKSSB examinations are scheduled at the institutions.

JKSSB Exams to Be Held in Two Shifts

The examinations will be conducted in two shifts.

The schedule is as follows:

Only those staff members who have been nominated for examination-related duties will be permitted to enter the institutions on the scheduled date.

The restriction has been put in place to ensure that the examination process is conducted smoothly and without disruption.

Why Has Classwork Been Suspended?

The suspension of regular classwork is a temporary administrative arrangement to make the institutions available for the conduct of the JKSSB written examinations.

With examination-related arrangements required at the venues, regular academic activities will remain suspended for the day.

Normal classwork can resume after the examination-related arrangements are completed, subject to further directions from the concerned authorities.

JKSSB Examination Schedule in Srinagar

Candidates appearing for the BCG Technician examination are required to take note of the 11 AM to 1 PM examination shift, while candidates appearing for the Paramedical Assistant examination will appear from 3 PM to 5 PM.

Candidates should follow the instructions issued by JKSSB and reach their designated examination centres as directed.
