J&K Govt Orders Major Reshuffle, 136 JKAS Officers Transferred and Posted
SRINAGAR, September 1: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday ordered a major administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting 136 officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) across various departments and districts.
The General Administration Department issued Government Order No. 1463-JK(GAD) of 2026 on September 1, with the transfers and postings coming into effect immediately.
Among the key changes, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, JKAS, Member of the J&K Special Tribunal, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, J&K Public Service Commission, against an available vacancy.
Khalid Majeed, JKAS, has been posted as Special Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, while Kanta Devi, JKAS, has been posted as Special Secretary to the Health and Medical Education Department.
Several other officers have been assigned important responsibilities in departments including revenue, health, education, taxation, rural development, social welfare, tourism, cooperatives and disaster management.
The reshuffle also includes a large number of Junior Scale JKAS officers, including BDOs, CDPOs, Under Secretaries and other officers, whose services have been placed at the disposal of various government departments.

According to the order, the officers covered by the reshuffle shall be deemed to have been relieved immediately from their respective places of posting.
The latest reshuffle is one of the major administrative changes in Jammu and Kashmir this year, affecting 136 JKAS officers across the Union Territory.
