KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns in Multiple Districts for Maintenance Works

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 29 (Times of Kashmir): The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns across various districts of the Valley to carry out essential maintenance and upgradation work on several 33 KV transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution) KPDCL, the planned outages are necessary to ensure system reliability and better service delivery during the upcoming winter season.

District-Wise Shutdown Schedule

Baramulla:
The 33 KV Baramulla–1st Line will remain shut on November 6, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., affecting areas including Baramulla Main Town, Khanpora, Kanlibagh, GMC Baramulla, and DC Office. Receiving stations at Baramulla–I, Kanlibagh, and GMC Baramulla will remain non-operational during this time.

Similarly, the 33 KV Baramulla–2nd Line will remain shut on November 2, 2025, between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., impacting Drangbal, Bagh-i-Islam, Sheeri, and adjoining areas. The Baramulla–II, Drangbal, Bagh-i-Islam, and Sheeri receiving stations will remain off.

Handwara:
The 33 KV Handwara Old Line will undergo maintenance shutdowns on October 30 and November 2 & 4, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Power supply to Zachaldara, Adoora, Changmulla and nearby areas will remain affected.

South Kashmir:
The 33 KV Batkoot–Pahalgam Tap Line will be shut on October 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., impacting Batkoot, Pahalgam, AIS, and GIS receiving stations.

Likewise, the 33 KV Mattan–Pahalgam Line will remain closed on November 1, 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., affecting Hutmurrah, Seer, Akad, Aishmuqam, Batkoot, Saller, and Pahalgam.

Additionally, the 33 KV Awantipora–Khiram Tap Line will experience shutdowns on November 1, 3, 5, and 8, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., impacting Khiram, Mahind, and adjacent areas.

KPDCL has urged residents to plan accordingly during the scheduled maintenance periods and expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience. The corporation reaffirmed that these shutdowns are essential for improving the reliability and efficiency of the region’s power infrastructure.
